The foundation of Javenese culture is humbleness, therefore it is not often spoken that we are driven by pride in everything we do. As farmers, we are not driven by maximizing wealth or minimizing time. What is important to us is to be able to feel truly proud of the product of our hard work – that is the best it can be. Nature determines the timing of our harvest, and therefore there is no use to rush things or to cut corners. Our teachers are our ancestors and nature, who taught us how to perfect our coffees. Nature teaches us everything we need to know, as long as we listen and pay attention. And at the end of a day working the plantation, there is nothing better than the pride we feel when sipping a cup of our own coffee, the beautiful Kawisari coffee.
Our coffees are grown without any synthetic fertilizers or chemicals, which means cleaner air, land, and water for our lush plantation in Mount Kawi. Only organic fertilizers are used in our growing and production process, such as coffee pulp, cow manure, and compost.
From reusable glass jars, biodegradable paper to reusable fabrics produced by local craftsmen and women, 80% of our products are packaged in biodegradable materials. We do not believe in the use of plastic, and we stay true in our mission to stay as the most natural and sustainable coffee plantation in Indonesia.
