The plantation was founded by the Dutch colonial government in 1870 when the Dutch withdrew forced cultivation regulations, making Tugu Kawisari plantation the oldest working coffee plantation in East Java. Our coffee are processed using secret method left behind by the Dutch.

50% of Kawisari coffees are certified organic and the rest of our crops have begun cultivation without chemical fertilizers, readying them to be certified in the next 2-3 years.

There are around 20 different species of Robusta coffee in our plantation and the numbers increase every single year thanks to the hard-working bees that call our lush plantation home. These bees cross-pollinate coffee flowers from different species and create coffee clones that are truly authentic to Tugu Kawisari Coffee Plantation.
